I think these might not work perfectly with the newer Pyprp versions, but they're here for posterity :P
Introduction
This is just a short tutorial, but well worth knowing.
You may have had a problem, where you can see a mesh, but only from one side. And it may be the wrong side! Often this problem affects sky-spheres, since you can only see it from outside of the sphere, and you want to see it from inside! This will show you how to play with these things.
Normals tutorial
- Select a mesh, and go to "edit" mode.
- Click the "editing" button in the "buttons" view-window.
- In the "mesh tools 1" section, make sure that "Draw normals" is turned on.
- You should now be able to see cyan lines sticking out of the faces.(You may have to zoom in, since they might be very short.) Watch out! They may be sticking out of the other side of the face!
- Select the faces that are pointing out of the wrong side.
- Go to Mesh->Normals->Flip
- They should all now be pointing the other way!
Other things you can do:
- If the normals are still too short for you, you can increase their length: by the "Draw normals" button, there is an option that says "NSize". Increase it to increase their length.
- If you want, you can try to get Blender to automatically fix all the normals using: Mesh->Normals->RecalculateInside or Mesh->Normals->RecalculateOutside. This may or may not fix them.
